Denzel Washington Stars in Book of EliDenzel Washington has signed on to star in the futuristic drama, The Book of Eli, which is being directed by Allen and Albert Hughes according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story was written by Gary Whitta and is the story of a lone hero (Washington) who fights to bring a futuristic American wasteland the knowledge from a sacred book that will allow society to redeem itself. Filming starts in January in New Mexico.  Washington recently completed filming The Taking of Pelham 123.

Walker and Christensen in Bone DeepPaul Walker and Hayden Christensen have been cast in the crime thriller Bone Deep which is being written and directed by John Luessenhop according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie is about a group of criminals who find their $20 million plan is being interrupted by a detective played by Matt Dillon.  Walker will play the leader of the gang while Christensen plays a rookie detective. In addition to Dillon, the cast also already includes Chris Brown, T.I. and Idris Elba. Fans of the pretty Paul Walker can see him in his return to the franchise Fast and Furious in June and Christensen will be in the upcoming Beast of Bataan and New York, I Love You.

Robert De Niro is Off the Edge of DarknessRobert De Niro, who was previously set to co-star alongside Mel Gibson in the Martin Campbell-directed Edge of Darkness has left the project according to Variety. De Niro was signed on to play an operative sent in tto clean up the evidence in the murder of a detective's daughter.  The detective is played by Mel Gibson. Filming began on the movie in Massachusetts on August 18 and De Niro just arrived on set this week.  According to De Niro's spokesman, "Sometimes things don't work out; it's called creative differences." The duo of Eisenberg and Stupnitsky are no strangers to Ghostbuster Harold Ramis as they just wrote the comedy Year One, which he directed. The original two Ghostbusters were written by Ramis and co-star Dan Aykroyd and directed by Ivan Reitman.  Let's hope they can get the whole team back.
