Jacobson revealed to us that she's producing an adaptation of author David Nicholls' One Day , to be directed by Lone Scherfig ( An Education ). "That is supposed to go this summer in London with Lone Scherfig directing and Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess," she said, adding that the deals aren't closed but that the two stars are both attached. WB Turning Leonardo Da Vinci Into an Action HeroWarner Bros. Pictures has picked up action-adventure treatment Leonardo da Vinci and the Soldiers of Forever from producer Adrian Askarieh, who is teaming with Vertigo's Roy Lee and Doug Davison. Da Vinci is known as having been a painter ("Mona Lisa," "The Last Supper), inventor, engineer, architect and mathematician. The project re-imagines him as a member of a secret society who falls headlong into a supernatural adventure that pits Da Vinci against Biblical demons in a story involving secret codes, lost civilizations, hidden fortresses and fallen angels. Askarieh, who is producing via his Prime Universe, came up with the original idea and wrote the treatment, with a search for a writer now under way.

Brian Grazer and Ron Howard's Imagine Entertainment will produce. Hoover was the first Director of the FBI of the United States. He was instrumental in founding the FBI in 1935, where he remained director until his death in 1972. Hoover is credited with building the FBI into a large and efficient crime-fighting agency, and with instituting a number of modern innovations to police technology, such as a centralized fingerprint file and forensic laboratories. Based on Mark Obmascik's 1998 book "The Big Year: A Tale of Man, Nature and Fowl Obsession," the film is about three men who try to outdo each other in a bird-watching competition to spot the rarest birds in North America. The rivalry is an allegory for the challenges each faces in his own life. Howard Franklin wrote the script for the film, which starts shooting this May in Canada. Segel and Helms Team for Jeff Who Lives at HomeJason Segel ("How I Met Your Mother") and Ed Helms ( The Hangover ) are starring in Jeff Who Lives at Home , a stoner comedy from Mark and Jay Duplass that will probably be distributed by Paramount. Shooting starts next month in Louisiana. The Duplass brothers, who are writing and directing the film, are producing with Jason Reitman via his Right of Way Films. John Malkovich's Mr. Mudd is also producing. The movie chronicles a day in the life of two brothers, one a loser (Segel) who lives at home and the other (Helms) more together but overbearing. The role of their mother is being cast; Judy Greer is in talks to play Helms' wife.

Oldman, Akerman and Ventimiglia Join EmpireGary Oldman, Malin Akerman and Milo Ventimiglia will star in the independent gangster film Criminal Empire for Dummys . Michael Clarke Duncan and Harvey Keitel are also attached. Cliff Dorfman ("Entourage," upcoming Warrior ) is making his feature directorial debut and helming from his own script. The movie centers on a charismatic young man (Ventimiglia) who relates the do's and don'ts of running a criminal empire through a flashback to his own rise from a tragic childhood and life in the ghetto to eventual position as a multinational drug and criminal kingpin. The film is scheduled to star shooting late March in New Orleans.

Writers Already Penning Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick RulesComingSoon.net talked exclusively to Diary of a Wimpy Kid producer Brad Simpson, who told us that they are ready to get started on a sequel if the first film is a success. The March 19 release is based on the first out of four books. A fifth book is coming to stores this year. "Our screenwriters are writing a sequel right now, "Rodrick Rules," which would be based on the second book," Simpson told us. "And, you know, we hope that the people want to see a second movie, that we are in position of going again right away and making another film. The Chipmunks are Coming in 3D, Wall Street Bumped20th Century Fox has announced that Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D , the third installment in the franchise, is coming to theaters on December 16, 2011. Combined, the first two films earned an impressive $791 million in theaters worldwide. Fox has also decided to move back Oliver Stone's Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps from April 23 to September 24. The studio is hoping that the film will be included in the Cannes Film Festival in May. Other movies scheduled for Sept. 24 are The Eagle of the Ninth , Legend of the Guardians and You Again . Corey Haim Dies; Corey Feldman Calls Out TMZMore sad news out of Hollywood- former child actor Corey Haim has passed away at the age of 38. Haim reportedly collapsed in his Los Angeles apartment, which he shares with his mother. He was rushed to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, early Wednesday, where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m. Haim had fought a lifetime of drug addiction, but was recently showing significant signs of recovery; he had been "weaned down to literally zero medications" in the last two weeks by an addiction specialist. Clint Eastwood Eyes J. Edgar Hoover BiopicAccording to Variety, Clint Eastwood (Invictus) has his eyes set on a biopic of controversial FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. The film will be written by Dustin Lance Black (Milk) and produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard under their Imagine Entertainment banner. Hoover was appointed director of the Bureau of Investigation in 1924 and was named head of the FBI when it was founded 11 years later. He remained director until his death in 1972 and came under attack late in his tenure for using the FBI to harass political activists and keeping secret files on leaders. Fox Bumps Wall Street and 3Dimensionalizes ChipmunksAccording to 20th Century Fox, the third film in the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise will be in 3D. The first two films have had a worldwide gross of $791 million in theaters. So logically, they will continue with a third film. It will have a release date of December 16, 2011. Additionally, Fox also decided to move Oliver Stone's Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps from April 23 to September 24. The studio is hoping that the film will be included in the roster of films to screen at the Cannes Film Festival this coming May. The sequel takes place 23 years after the original, revolving around the 2008 stock market crash. John Krasinski, Captain America He is NotThe Office's John Krasinski (It's Complicated) is officially out of the running for Joe Johnston's The First Avenger: Captain America movie. However, he is signing on for Something Borrowed, a film based on the Emily Griffin novel. Ginnifer Goodwin (He's Just Not That Into You) is also attached to play a woman who falls in love with her best friend's fiance as she turns 30. Krasinski is going to play her best mate. The film is already being planned out in pre-production by Alcon Entertainment. They bought the movie rights to Griffin's sequel to the first book, entitled "Something Blue." Wizard of Oz in 3D?Hollywood is certainly staying away from Kansas these days. According to The Los Angeles Times, there are two possible Wizard of Oz projects that could hit the big screen. The first, entitled Oz, is written by screenwriter Darren Lemke (Shrek Forever After) seems to be a modern remake of the 1939 original. The second seems to be more of a sequel to the original story, and will be written by Josh Olson (A History of Violence) and Todd MacFarlane (creator of Spawn). Ever since Avatar reignited the 3D phenomenon and with the recent Alice in Wonderland solidifying the third dimension's time and place, it seems likely that major upcoming Hollywood fare will consider the technology.
